Nick Stillwell

Co-Owner, Head Guide & Dog Trainer

Nick graduated from the University of Houston in 2009 majoring in Business. At the beginning of the 2011 summer, he took over the day-to-day activities of running the majority of our trips. In early 2015 Nick became co-owner of Run-N-Gun & and took over managing more of the operation. Nick has been fishing the Matagorda Bay systems for many years now, and knows what it takes to ensure his clients will have a fun and successful fishing trip. Whether wading or drifting, he knows the bay and how to put fish in the box. Nick’s resume runs deepest when it comes to waterfowl hunting on the Texas Coast & Prairie. Not only has he been guiding hunts since he was 16 years old, but he has also placed 3rd, twice, in the World Championship Snow Goose calling contest. Let’s just say that on any given day no matter the circumstances, I’d put Nick up against any guide in Texas, hunting or fishing! Nick also personally trained his late dog Gunner into a hunter retriever champion at just 18 years old. He now trains professionally during the spring & late summer at our brand new(2015) kennels and training facility. , There is usually a waiting list because he only takes 16 dogs at a time and word has spread on his ability. Once customers let him train their dog they always let him finish them out. Anyone that sees a dog work in the field that he’s trained always asks, “Who did the training and can he take my dog too.” Nick definitely has what is required of a Run-N-Gun guide and I couldn’t be happier with the direction everything is heading since he became part owner!
